Choosing a Yacht Designer

If you’ve made the decision to purchase or build a yacht, more than likely you’ve thought about spending the money to decorate it ways that you see fit. From the inside out, a yacht designer can transform the yacht you purchase from something that isn’t pleasing to you, into your perfect dream. It’s all about choosing the right yacht designer, and in order to successfully do this, there are some things you will want to think about first. The first thing you’ll want to do is grab a piece of paper and something to write with.

Make a List

After you’ve got that paper and pencil, you’ll want to make a rough draft list. This list will entail everything you really, really want to see your yacht designer implement into your new yacht transformation. This list is a rough draft, so go ahead and include all your wants, even the ones that seem far fetched. Once your list is complete, you will want to include whoever you are making this decision with and ask them if they want to add to the list. After this point, take a few days to sit down together and determine the cost of each item listed, and then eliminate the ones that are not financially feasible.

From there, you will want to take another couple of days to really think hard about the things on the list you have no doubt you will ask your yacht designer to implement, and the ones you are flexible on.

Choosing the Yacht Designer

Once your list of requirements is ready, interview yacht designer prospects with the assistance of the list. Make sure to let them know of the items on our list that you are adamant about, and the things you are willing to listen to ideas about. Have these yacht designers come up with a design for your yacht, and get them to submit their ideas to you.

At this point, you’ll have the opportunity to see which yacht designer is more in tune with your wants, needs and living style, and which yacht designer you should choose for your project. Make sure that with whoever you choose, you both come to some agreements about when changes can or cannot be implemented into the project, and come up with an exact plan for the design before the project begins. This will insure a more pleasant experience when using a yacht designer, and offer the designer a pleasant experience as well.

Creating A Yacht Design

Creating A Yacht Design

When you want to build a yacht, you may find yourself faced with many choices. First, you have to decide if you want a sailing yacht or a power yacht. After that, you have free reign to create any yacht design you want. Just remember that yachts, by definition, are crafts of luxury, so make sure that you’re happy with the final design before you start building. Make sure you and the yachts creator have gone over every aspect. For, it’s easy to change the design while it’s still on paper but it’s a little harder once your yacht has been built.

Find A Yacht Designer

First, you have to find a yacht designer. You can find them on the internet or you might have one in your area. Typically, yacht designers set up their businesses next to marinas and ports where yachts are popular. That way, they know they’ll always have a steady stream of customers. When you meet with the designer, present them with your yacht design. If you are limited by money, your designer will go over some basic designs for you. However, even though they are basic, they are still yacht designs so they will still be luxury liners.

When describing your yacht design, try to be as specific as possible. If you have something specific in mind, such as how many windows you’d like, or any added amenities, like sinks, beds, and such, make them known up front so that they can be added to the cost and to the design itself. Your designer can only go off of what you tell him or her, so you want to be as clear as possible when describing your yacht design.

When the plans are finished, ask to see them. You don’t want to be surprised by something after the yacht is built. That’s the wrong time to say that you don’t like something about the yacht design. You want to make any objections before the final product is finished. That way, when the yacht is done, you can marvel at the luxury liner you built in your mind that was made reality by your yacht designer. After all, if the yacht design came from you, you know it’s the ultimate yacht design. And when you finally see the finished product, you’ll know that the yacht before you is one of a kind and that’s the best feeling of all.
